Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

Integrative Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy at The Trauma Resource is designed for adults and teens who feel overwhelmed, confused by their reactions, or unsure why past experiences still affect their daily lives. Trauma therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps you process overwhelming experiences, understand how trauma has shaped your nervous system, and reduce the long-term effects of those experiences over time. This work focuses on helping you understand what you’ve lived through, how it has shaped your nervous system, and what you need now in order to heal.

Therapy here is relational, compassionate, and paced, allowing change to unfold through being genuinely seen, understood, and valued.

How Wendy Works

An Integrative, Trauma-Informed
Way of Working

Wendy uses an integrative approach because no single method works for everyone. Trauma therapy is most effective when it responds to what is happening for you in the moment, rather than following a rigid framework. Wendy draws from different therapeutic approaches and chooses what feels most supportive based on your needs, readiness, and nervous system capacity.

The approaches Wendy integrates include Internal Family Systems, EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic and nervous system–based work, expressive and experiential techniques such as art and writing, mindfulness and grounding practices, and relational psychotherapy. These tools
are used thoughtfully and collaboratively, helping you understand your reactions, calm your nervous system, and build greater compassion toward yourself. The goal is not to force change, but to create safety and understanding so healing can happen naturally over time.

Individualized Support

Integrative Trauma Therapy

Individual trauma therapy offers a consistent, supportive space to explore trauma, chronic stress, and experiences that still feel unresolved. This work is for adults and teens who are ready to engage in therapy with openness, reflection, and commitment, knowing that healing is cumulative and unfolds through relationship and consistency.

Sessions are most often held weekly, either in person in Baltimore or virtually, allowing trust and safety to develop over time. Wendy works with compassion and authenticity, helping you understand what happened, why your reactions make sense, and how to strengthen emotional regulation and self-worth. Over time, clients often experience reduced shame and self-blame, increased self-compassion, improved relationships, and a greater sense of safety in themselves and the world around them.

Individual trauma therapy sessions are $195 per session. Trauma Therapy Intensives are $900 for a three-hour session. Wendy Berman, LCSW-C provides trauma therapy in Baltimore, Maryland and offers virtual trauma therapy for clients across the state.

Focused, In-Depth Work

Trauma Therapy Intensives

Trauma Therapy Intensives are three-hour sessions designed for clients who want to focus on trauma or attachment work in a more concentrated way. Intensives may be a good fit if you feel stuck in therapy, want to work through a specific trauma, prefer deep, immersive work, or are motivated and ready for focused healing.

An intensive is not simply more therapy in less time. It is a carefully paced process designed around your nervous system capacity and consent. Wendy collaborates with you to identify what you want to focus on and may integrate approaches such as EMDR therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic work as appropriate. The pace is guided by your signals and adjusted as needed. Between sessions, clients may be invited to practice grounding skills, reflection, journaling, or somatic exercises to support integration.

Therapy Intensives offer the opportunity to focus on trauma work more deeply in a shorter period of time. This format can help reduce the number of sessions needed by allowing momentum to build, while still moving at a pace guided by safety and nervous system capacity.

Your first session, like ongoing sessions, will be approximately fifty minutes. It’s a time for us to get to know each other and begin building a sense of safety and trust. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s been feeling most present in your life, and how trauma may have shown up for you over time.

We’ll also spend time noticing your strengths and what has helped you survive and cope up to this point. Together, we may gently explore what you would like to feel or experience differently as therapy unfolds. The tone of the session is warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental, with care taken to move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
